Question

Merci d'avance !

@Calabani   It would help if the correct app names were used.

The name "Lightroom CC" is now meaningless. It simply causes confusion. There are now two apps-

"Lightroom"  - The Cloud based app, and

"Lightroom-Classic"  -  The Local based app.

The fact that you are asking about a catalog file ".LRCAT" suggests you have been using Lightroom-Classic (or one of its very early Versions 1-6)

If you are using Lightroom-Classic, this blog article will help you understand where your presets, etc, are stored.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

OK, sorry for not using "the correct app names"... As I said, I'm not yet a Lightroom expert and there are "Lightroom CC" files on my previous computer - so, not obvious for a beginner.

If my understanding is ok (please remind I'm french), the best way to retrieve my different settings should be to do as follows :

. check the Store presets with this catalog checkbox in Preferences on my previous computer,

. save the catalog and then bring it on the new computer,

. bring back also the file Lightroom Classic CC 7 Preferences.agprefs

Can you tell me if this should be enough ?

Thank you

Hey, @Calabani. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out.

Do you still have access to the previous machine? If so, please follow along.

You can go to the location of the preset folder (https://adobe.ly/44G1g2T)
Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe > Lightroom

You can also press Windows + R & paste this address %appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom and click OK, Within this folder, you'll find the templates and presets. You can copy these over to the new machine in the exact location & your presets should become available.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks!

Hi Sameer

Thanks for your quick answer.

I hopefully have access to the previous machine and found user presets and templates. Though I'm not very clever yet with Lightroom CC so I don't know which files I have to bring back or not. Isn't there a way to globally save all my Lightroom CC configuration of the previous computer to be able to restore it onto the new computer ? May I copy the whole directory ...AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom whitout getting junk files ? Or do I have to collect only some files, and which ones ?

I'm using Lightroom CC : do I have to retrieve only files from ...AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom or do I need some from ...AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom CC or .../Lightroom CC Helper ?

I hope you'll have somme clue !

By the way, I think there's a typo in your answer : the preset folder includes inly one "Adobe" (Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe).

Have o nice day !
