Copy/Paste and then fails

Every time I copy and paste an operation into a batch, Lightroom crashes. That is, the pasting stops at a certain number and simply does not continue.

Correct answer Anshul_Saini

There are no problems with my internet connection. Doesn't seem like the problem either, if I once left it on all night to 'stick' the editing. I don't have any filters on, so that doesn't seem to be the problem either.

Thanks for confirming, @joeym67450223, and for the detailed follow-up.  Since the behavior only occurs in Lightroom (cloud) and works correctly when editing locally, the next step is to rule out a corrupted or stalled cloud sync state.

Please try the steps below in this order:

• Quit Lightroom
• In Finder, go to
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom CC
and delete all contents inside this folder

• Go to
~/Pictures
and rename (Don't delete this file under any circumstance)
Lightroom Library.lrlibrary
to
Lightroom Library.lrlibrary.old

• Relaunch Lightroom
• Let the app fully resync your cloud library (this may take time depending on library size)

After the sync completes:

• Import a new batch of photos
• Try the same copy/paste workflow with AI presets and noise reduction

If this resolves the issue, it confirms that there was a cloud sync state problem, which also explains why the same workflow worked without issue in Local mode.

Thank you again for your patience and for sharing external references.

Hi @joeym67450223, welcome to the community!
We’ll need a bit more info to help troubleshoot this. Could you let us know the exact version of Lightroom you’re using? We didn’t find any crash reports linked to the email on your community account.
What happens when you copy and paste, do you see an error message? Does the app freeze and require a force quit, or does it close immediately? As a first step, try resetting your preferences: https://adobe.ly/48QjP6z
If that doesn’t fix it, please share your system info. You can find it in Lightroom under Help > System Info. Just copy it into a text file and attach it here, or share it via Google Drive, WeTransfer, or another file-sharing service.
Thanks so much for your help!

I always apply the same editing to all my photos. They are AI presets and I also use noise reduction. I do that on one photo and then copy the settings. I stick it on all my other, sometimes 200+ photos. Usually halfway through the progress bar remains and does not continue. I think it's about the 'bar' for updating AI settings. If I leave my MacBook alone for hours, it's not even a percent further. If I then divide it into sets of 20 photos, there is nothing wrong. It is version 9.1, but I also had those problems on previous versions. With version 8.4 I also had problems

Hi @joeym67450223,

Thanks for the detailed explanation, that helps clarify the pattern you’re seeing. A couple of quick things to confirm and try next:

• Have you already tried resetting Lightroom (cloud-based) preferences as Aleke suggested?
– Quit Lightroom
– Relaunch while holding Shift + Option
– Confirm the reset when prompted

• When the batch paste stalls, does Lightroom fully crash, or does it just get stuck?
– If it gets stuck, does it show “Not Responding” in Activity Monitor?

To help us move this forward, could you please also share:

• Your System Info (Help > System Info)
• A short screen recording showing the copy/paste process and where it stops

Once we have that, we can check this internally and escalate it.

Best regards,
