Crop tool running slow when cropping a photo with masks

Question

Crop tool will not move smoothly whn cropping an rotating an image with masks on it. Trying to crop an image with basic brush masks in order to test compositions. It jumps and stutters. switching to an image basically identical to it will enable very smooth cropping.

I have a video to showcase this issue if needed, however it is too big to upload

Hey, @Kieran24422350xswz. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Please share the system info from Lightroom by going to Help > System info, copying and pasting it into a text document, uploading it, and attaching it here.

Where do you keep your Lightroom catalog & the original images, internal, or external drive?

As primary steps, try this:

Unplug additional displays & use only one by default.
Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor > Set it off if it is on Custom or Auto. If this shows you any differences, please check this article to troubleshoot further: https://adobe.ly/3uYiJo4
