Date changes when exporting from a shared album

A friend shared an album with me via Lightroom on the web, and whilst I can see the correct dates and descriptions in the shared album, if I download the photos they lose the metadata. This means all the photos are dated as today's date, and the descriptions/info is all gone. Is there a way to download the photos so that I retain the original information? Thanks!
