Question

Deleting Photos from Lightroom Cloud Storage

I currently have 742 Gb of photos in the cloud storage. If I delete these from the cloud storage, will it also delete them from Lightroom?

I do export my completed photos to my local drive. I'd hate to lose my completed photos by deleting them from the cloud.

Thank you!

Photos deleted in the cloud will be deleted on all devices using Lightroom Desktop or Lightroom Mobile.
They are not deleted from Lightroom Classic however.

Hi Rikk

Does it take time for deleted photos to 'catch up' with the cloud.  I have deleted hundreds yesterday, they appear darkened but are not in my deleted folder, neither has my photo count been reduced.  I am deleting from All Photos in order to free up cloud storage.

Thanks

When you delete items, the deletes do need to sync from which ever device performed the delete to the cloud. Depending upon the number of images and the state of your network connectivity, that can take some time.

We could have the engineers take a closer look if you can perform the following:

  1.  Quit the App
  2.  Restart the App
  3.  Delete a file and if you are in the state where it becomes darker but doesn't move to deleted items then send us a log.

For LrDesktop

  • Go to Preferences
  • Account Section
  • Hold down the [Opt/Alt] key to make [Diagnostic Log] button appear.
