"Denoise" AI function stopped working with Lightroom 8.4

I updated Lightroom to 8.4 today and the "denoise" AI feature is no longer working.

 

I click the "denoise" checkbox under "detail". A pop-up says "processing", but  1. the strikethrough on the denoise check box doesn't appear. 2. It doesn't look like the denoise was applied and 3. Lightroom seems to stall when I try to navigate to another photo.

It just worked yesterday on the previous Lightroom version. I've been working through an album of photos and noticed today. I would appreciate it if someone could fix it - thanks!

I believe this is related to caching -  I cleared my cache in Lightroom and then deleted the Autosaved Versions on the photo I've been working on. I quit and restarted Lightroom, then applied the denoise AI function. It worked after that.
