Denoise Feature

Hi, im struggling to understand the denoise feature... I have used it previously and the outcome was amazing. i went to use it again on photos from a similar shoot, exact same camera and CR2 settings and it says the feature is not compatible with this format? I had just updated the app but surely that wouldnt have affected this?
