Question

Denoise not working

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with TheNoise in lightroom Desktop (not Classic): the amount slider just doesn’t load, even though I’m using RAW files, the latest version of Lightroom, and a MacBook Pro M1. I’ve followed the same workflow I used before, but it’s not working this time.

Has anyone else run into this? Any idea what might be causing it?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, thanks for reaching out, and we're sorry about the delay in responding to you!

Please go to the Help menu in Lightroom, then System Info, and copy the text. You can share the info with us by either pasting it as a reply here or in a text file and sharing the file with us.

It would be helpful if you could share a screenshot or a screen recording of the behavior you're experiencing.

Thanks,
Nikunj

Hi Nikunj,

Thank you for getting back to me. I’ve attached the System Info from Lightroom (copied directly from the Help → System Info menu) as requested, along with a screenshot of the behavior I’m experiencing.

As you can see in the screenshot, the problem is that even though I click on Denoise, it seems to load the option, but afterwards the Amount slider remains disabled and no noise reduction is applied. I have also verified that the photo is a .RAW file, as I have always done over the years.

This behavior has never occurred in my previous edits; Denoise was always applied correctly. It is true that these were other versions of Lightroom. This is the first time I have seen this new Denoise mode, and the problem appeared starting with it.

Please let me know if you need any additional details to help troubleshoot the issue.

Hey! @Pablo22574842r85l

Apologies for the delayed response. It appears you're using a version of your operating system that is two years old. We recommend updating your system, as this will also update your GPU drivers—which are likely the cause of the issue.
