denoise not working properly

Hello Adobe Support Team,

I’m experiencing an ongoing issue with the Denoise feature in Lightroom (cloud version) that is affecting my workflow.

The Denoise tool works inconsistently—it will function at times and then stop working without any clear pattern. When it fails, it either does nothing when selected or gets stuck processing and never completes. This inconsistency is causing delays and making it difficult to stay on schedule with client work.

Details:
• App: Adobe Lightroom (Cloud version, not Classic)
• Platform: Windows
• Issue frequency: Intermittent but frequent
• Impact: Significant slowdown and workflow delays

Troubleshooting steps I’ve already tried:
• Restarting Lightroom and my computer
• Logging out and back into Creative Cloud
• Checking for updates
• Attempting the process on different photos

The issue continues despite these steps. I rely heavily on Denoise for my editing workflow, so I’d appreciate assistance in identifying the cause or a permanent fix.

Hi @40786212, welcome to the Lightroom Community forums! Thanks for sending over your details! Great start on trying to troubleshoot, so let's try a few things that haven't been tried yet: 

1. Update your GPU drivers to the latest stable version (NVIDIA Studio, AMD Adrenalin, or Intel Graphics). Restart your computer after updating.

2. In Lightroom, go to Edit > Preferences > Performance. Set “Use Graphics Processor” to Custom and enable Processing. Test Denoise. If it still fails, set it to Off, restart Lightroom, and test again.

3. Clear your Lightroom Cache. Restart your computer.

4. Ensure at least 20–30 GB of free space on your system drive for temporary files.

5. Test Denoise on a supported RAW file from your camera to rule out file-specific issues.

I am experiencing similar issues. Denoise was working fine but now it starts and will not complete. Switches off after a few seconds. I am using  Lightroon classic 14.5.2 and CR 17.5 Have an iMac OS Ventura 13.7.8  Updates all good. Have 559 GB available on hard drive. Have emptied LR caches. Have set “Use Graphics Processor” to custom and off and re tried - same result.    Please advise.
