Desktop install - IOS Album disappeared

I have LR on my iPad and used it to curate a small album from a WD My Passport during a trip to Africa. I just got home, installed the desktop LR CC on my Mac and started uploading photos. That'll take a few days.

The curated album on my iPad is now gone and it's syncing from the cloud as the photos upload from my Mac. 😞

I know I was logged in with my Adobe account under IOS, but most of the time wifi was off and nothing sync'ed to the cloud. At some point after installing the Mac client, I logged out on IOS and logged back in. Honestly, I didn't pay too much attention to the account and cloud aspects on IOS, I assumed the curated album would sync. 

Any ideas on where my album went and how to recover?  I have 5k or more photos from the trip and really would love to get the curated album back, especailly since I annoted the photos there.
