DNG files black border on high contrast areas macbook

Using the latest lightroom 8.5.1

Macbook Pro M4 16Gb 15.6.1

Opening a DNG file or using inbuilt de noise creates the same issue, a black border is added to high contrast areas. The DNG files do not contain this when viewed outside lightroom.

Hi @gregj52397656,

Sorry for the late reply, and thank you for reporting this. The team has tested this internally on multiple setups (macOS 15.6.1 on an M3 MacBook Air with Lightroom 8.5.1/ macOS 26 on M1 Max MacBook Pro & M1 Mac Mini) but wasn’t able to reproduce the black border issue. To help us narrow this down, could you please try the following:

  • Reset Lightroom Classic preferences and check if the behavior persists.

  • Turn off “Use Graphics Processor” in Preferences > Performance and see if the issue still occurs.

  • Copy and paste your System Info from Lightroom’s Help> System Info menu into a reply here.

This additional detail will help the product team investigate further.

Best,
