Question

DNG metadata bulk copy

I have many heavy DNG panoramas created on Lightroom.

After a while I had an idea to make and work on smaller DNG using the Adobe DNG convertor for faster workflow.

My issue is that when I tried saving my metadata to .xmp files (to copy all my settings on the photos I already worked on) nothing happened..

How can I easily copy the settings of photos I already worked on? Searched a bit around the web and did not find An answer..

Of course I can copy and paste each photo in a time though it's time consuming and not a fun task..

Thank you

Your DNG panoramas created with Lr are already 'DNG'. There is no purpose or reason to want to use the Converter program!

Saving metadata to DNG files does do something! It saves the metadata INTO the DNG file. It will not create a separate 'sidecar' XMP file as happens with proprietary raw files (NEF, CR2, etc).

I am not sure what you are attempting by a "Copy and Paste"!!

Your DNG panorama files are like any other raw file in Lr-Classic- Your develop editing will be stored in Lr History, and you only need to export from Lr if you want derivative files to send out.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.4.1, Photoshop 27.8, ACR 18.4, Lightroom 9.4, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.3 .
