Question

Does Adobe think that no one is using their iPad apps as their main apps?

This is a question for Adobe and I’m being sincere here. I’m not trying to be snarky or rude or anything, I’m genuinely interested in the answer.

Does Adobe think that no one are using their apps on iPad as their main versions of Adobe apps?

To be more precise, does Adobe think that Lightroom on iPad is used only as a backup or a travel app? A way to edit on the go, but at home people use Lightroom on their PC?

It might be that I’m actually the only one, but I use Lightroom on my iPad almost exclusively. It’s faster and more comfortable. I don’t wanna turn my PC on if I don’t have to.

The reason I ask is that I think it’s weird that there is functions on the PC version of Lightroom (not classic) that is not mirrored on the iPad version. Like you can’t import profiles on the iPad, you need to do that on the PC.

I’ve been trying to think up reasons why there is this discrepancy, and I can’t really come up with another explanation for it other than Adobe assumes people don’t use the iPad versions full time.

Is this incorrect? I would love it if anyone who works at Adobe had an answer. I just wanna understand at this point.

    Hey @just eirik,

Thanks for explaining your perspective so clearly. Your question is completely understandable, especially since many people now use Lightroom on iPad as their primary editing workflow rather than just a companion or travel app.

I can see why the missing feature parity between Lightroom Desktop and iPad, like importing profiles, would feel limiting and lead to questions about how the platform is being prioritized.

While I can’t speak to product decisions or roadmap, feedback like this is valuable because it helps highlight how users are actually working today. You’re definitely not alone in wanting a more fully featured Lightroom experience on iPad.

I do see you've add your vote to this Idea in the community: https://adobe.ly/4toxoRS Thank you for voting! Please share with others that agree.

I’m sharing your post, along with the others you’ve contributed, with the team. Please continue sharing this kind of candid and constructive feedback in the community. Perspectives like yours are incredibly valuable in helping highlight how people are using the app and where expectations are evolving.

Good to hear that I’m being heard. :)

Can I just share this image. I JUST made it for an upload on Cara (like IG but better). I wanted to show how I edit my photos because I have followers that seem to like that kind of thing.

To show how I edit I took screenshots and I think this one is a bit relevant here. In it I’m showing how I have to use a preset to apply adjustments to the calibration sliders because they don’t exist on the iPad version.

If the whole post where I used that screenshot is of interest, it’s here: https://cara.app/post/8a3a65b7-5da8-4d26-919e-895dfef090d5

    EDIT:

The image keeps disappearing when I try to add it here. So instead, it’s the last image on that post above.
