Double touch to show clipping function glitching out consistently

Attached is an eight second screen capture of what I'm talking about. 

The devil touch function for manipulating several variables in the program while indicating clipped areas, no longer works. It seems like the function will work for maybe two seconds before some sort of error occurs, and the view snaps back to standard display, and sometimes it looks like the program has to reload the entire image before proceeding. I have a pretty new iPad Pro within the year and it shouldn't have to think that hard for this operation or at least it hasn't in the past
