Drag and drop in Lightroom (non-classic)

I see posts going back severa years of people asking for a drag and drop functionality in LR (non-classic). Does anyone know if this is on the roadmap or if there's a reason for it not being implemented?

Please be more precise and give us the Version Number from the MENU: Help > System Info...

"Drag & Drop" where and for what purpose? 

Lightroom (File & Folder based, now Lr-Classic) has always been able to Drag& Drop files from folder to folder/hard-drives.

Lightroom (Cloud based)- No.!  But you can "Drag & Drop" files into Albums. (All files are stored in the Cloud)
