Duplicates do not import in a new album

Question

Hello,Using a different Adobe account/computer than mine, I created several duplicates of a photo, applying different light and color settings each time. I then exported these duplicates (.RW2 and .XMP), automatically named P0000000-2, P0000000-3 etc. Now I'm trying to import them in my own Lightroom/computer but it will only import the first photo, and then an error message will pop up saying it can't import duplicates. I tried changing the names of the duplicates, it doesn't help.Can anyone suggest a solution? I would like to avoid fixing the problem by hand on each photo separately, as I have many occurrences of this issue. Thanks !

I can see your problem but I do not know how to remedy.

The duplicates (.RW2 and .XMP), althought you renamed differently, ALL use the same .RW2 raw file, and Lightroom recognises this and refuses to Import more than one copy of the .RW2.

Have you tried Exporting from the source Catalog as DNG files, with renaming?

This seemed to work for me with a test using 'Duplicates'. However my 'source' Catalog is the same as the 'destination' catalog.
