Edit and Contribute Issues on Adobe Lightroom (Adobe Photoshop Lightroom v7.5)

I am the primary owner of several albums in the cloud version of Adobe Lightroom. I have shared those albums with colleagues and provided them with "can edit and colloborate" access. Yet, for some reason, they are unable to apply star ratings, or search for photos in a given library that they have access to.

Also - One of my colleagues can't even seem to access the albums via the Lightroom app that I've shared with them, despite having been provided full access. The albums are not showing up in their app's Shared tab.

Any help on either of these issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @joel_5541,

Sorry for the delayed response — I hope things are working better now. Just to clarify, Star ratings and Search are not supported for contributors of shared albums at the moment. I agree these would be really useful additions. I’d recommend creating a feature request in the Ideas section of the community so the product team can review it, and others can upvote as well.

Since your team member can access the shared album on Lightroom Web, but not in the desktop app, this suggests there may be a sync or profile-selection issue on the desktop side. If you can share his email address via DM, we can take a look, or you can suggest him to sign out and sign in to Lightroom again with the correct ID, which he is using on the web.

Regarding your question about multiple accounts: It’s possible for one email address to have two Adobe profiles — a Personal profile and an Enterprise/Team profile provided by your organization. In your case, you have both:

  • Your Teams account, which holds your active subscription

  • A Personal account with no subscriptions

If needed, your admin can help clean up or remove unused profiles to avoid confusion. Let me know if you need help checking which profile your colleagues are signed into.

Regards,

Srishti

Hey, @joel_5541. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I've checked the account you've used for the Community. You have two profiles, and the subscription is in one of the two profiles.

I assume your colleagues have the same two profiles set up on their email accounts. Please confirm if the shared albums appear in Lightroom Web (https://adobe.ly/3Ljsrt3) as you share them when they're signed in through the right profile.

Search isn't supported for contributors/recipients of the shared album. Here is a test album shared with me that I can contribute to.

Let me know if this helps. Thanks!

@Sameer K - Thanks for the quick response. I can confirm that my team members can access the albums via the link you shared.

For all team members, I shared with their company email addresses - the addresses that have user access through our employer account. For team member, I also added their personal accounts since they were having trouble viewing the albums via their company email address/account in the Lightroom app.

Why is Search not supported? Certainly makes finding sspecific images faster. Can this be added as a feature?

Is the Star feature supposed to be availale to those I share albums with, who have edit and contribute permissions?

How can a team member confirm and mange the number of accounts they have? I went to manage my account, but don't see multiple accounts set up.
