Edit in Photoshop changes capture time

Have a bunch of photos of a wedding (mine) that the capture time was off, so I went and adjusted all the photos to the correct time on desktop. However, when I edit in Photoshop and save, the time returns to the original, non-adjusted time. Sometimes it's just the single photo, sometimes it's multiple photos that are grouped into the same stack. Just a bug? Expected behavior? Or, am I missing something?
