Edited photos will not export from Lightroom CC to designated folder

I am using Lightroom CC on a Mac Pro running OS X.  I recently closed a project after exporting many edited photos from it. 

I then opened a new project, and after setting up all my preferences in the "export" menu, no photos will export to the folder I designated.  I hear a short "ding", but there is no export to the designated folder.

What is the problem?
