Edits not being saved

I have now hit the same issue twice with the same picture on two consecutive days: I did edits (crop, remove, color adjustments) and they have not been saved, neither locally nor to the cloud. At first, I assumed it's only a sync issue (finished, closed LR on Windows, checked on mobile) but next time I finished the edits, closed LR, shutdown my notebook and after restart --> All edits are gone - again.

I got the issue (so far) only with a specific image, that is a panorama stitched together by LR and saved as DNG (~86MB). It seems like selecting another image triggers the cloud upload (I can see the rotating circle on the cloud in the upper right corner).
