Enhance Details Required Windows 10 October Update Message

I just tried to use the new Enhance Details feature and i get an error message to say..

'System Update Required - Enhance Details requires Windows 10 October 2018 update or later'

I thought this odd, as I have auto updates enabled, but I checked and Windows says it is fully up to date, so why is Lightroom showing me this error message?

Check that you have version 1809 – build 17763

Microsoft originally found a bug and pulled automatic updates but I believe they have now fixed it. You could do the Windows update manually or wait for future roll-out. Bear in mind that Enhance Details is a specialist tool and you will only see a difference at the pixel level when magnified and with certain subjects. See my blog for more information:

I have the same issue . My PC is windows 1809 build 17763,

I still get the error that says:

"System update required. Enhance details requires Windows 10 October 2018 update or later".

this issue only repro ACR enhance detail for after effects .    ACR enhance details for photoshop and lightroom  work well.

what is the root cause ?

Oh right! That is very helpful, thanks. I was sure my machine did an update just the other week, but maybe not THIS update. My build is actually 1803 build 17134

Yeah, to be honest, I dont know what it is but I wanted to have a go and see. I will have a read of the blog though for sure, thanks.
