Enhance tool not working

Hi, in need of some help! I’m an amateur photographer trying out lightroom, I have been trying to use the enhance tools, as well as denoise etc. I tried googling the issue and have tried various different things.

I shot the images on a canon 5D mark IV in raw, they uploaded as CR2 files and I’ve converted them into TIFF. I have tried the new lightroom and also classic. I have plenty of storage on my Mac. 

Could someone please be able to help me 🙏 I will need it explained in the most simplest of ways if possible, like I said above I’m a newbie! THANK YOU

    These tools work on original raw files only. As you said you converted the image to TIFF, that explains why you can’t use them on this image.

    This usually happens because Enhance / Denoise only works on original RAW files, not on converted files like TIFF.

    Simple fix:

    • Use the original CR2 RAW files from your Canon 5D Mark IV

    • Don’t convert them to TIFF before importing

    • Open the RAW photo → right-click → Enhance → Denoise

    If it still doesn’t work, make sure Lightroom is fully updated.

    These tools work on original raw files only. As you said you converted the image to TIFF, that explains why you can’t use them on this image.
