Error message The Lightroom catalog cannot be used

The full message is

The Lightroom catalog cannot be used because the parent folder “/Volumes/106926 Data/Jacks ” does not allow files to be created within it.

I am not trying to create files I'm am trying to access the ones I have.

Any suggestions?

Hey, @cherylm29513737. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Does it work if you choose a different catalog or create a new catalog on the internal drive?

By design, when you launch a catalog, Lightroom must create a few support files right next to the catalog that are required for the general operation & integrity of the catalog.

Just to be sure, ensure Lightroom Classic has the required permissions on the macOS: https://adobe.ly/43zB3AJ
