Export Original JPG and Settings

Hi everyone,

I'd like to create local backups of my albums using LR 5.1 for Windows.

However, when I am exporting "Original + Settings", it exports the settings / xmp file only if the original is a raw (DNG) file. If the original was a JPG or HEIC, only the original is exported and the settings are not exported. Is there a workaround?

Also, isn't it possible to filter albums by file extension (DNG/jpg/heic)?

Thanks and BR

Denis

The settings are exported, but they are stored in the metadata header of the file itself. XMP sidecar files are only used for proprietary raw files.

To filter for DNG, type "extension:dng" in the search field.

You are right - after re-importing an exported image all edits seem to be present 🙂

Thanks for the quick reply.
