Exporting causing system to freeze. Also unable to remove coloured label from photos.

I am using Lightroom Classic 9.4 on MacOS Catalina 10.15.7

Every time I go to export LRC is freezing.  I can't do anything.  I go in to force quit, and the force quit dialogue box indicates no problems (like saying it is unresponsive).  I force quit, and of course loose my editing work!  This has happened 5 times now and is becoming very frustrating!  From what I can tell, it doesn't like it when I create a new file folder that the saved work goes into.  If the folder is already there, it seems to handle it.  but if I create a new file folder it stops working.

I did download the newest version of Lightroom but it was giving me problems so I uninstalled it.  My problems are still there!

Help!
