Exporting photos chronologically

I've used lightroom for years and never have had any trouble exporting my photos in order of the capture date. Now when I go to export, the photos go from capture date order to a completely random order that I can't figure out how to change.

I have a MacBook air

I'm using Lightroom CC 5.4

please help me lol

How are you viewing the exported files to make you think they are in a "completely random order"? Do you rename on export to include a sequence number?
