exporting photos from mac silently lost edits made in mobile lightroom

Longtime customer here.  Have used Lightroom for years - classic on PC/mac, and more recently mac/mobile Lightroom (non-classic).  Edited in mobile while on vacation in the past couple of weeks, then exported/shared them with others from my mac.  

 

When they’d been shared, I saw that some of the edits were not there - including crop/straighten, and some of your AI-branded enhancements.  When I went to double check them, I got a message that the photo had been ‘edited in a newer version of lightroom’ and that if I continued, I’d lose those edits.  

 

So - the exporting allowed me to share incomplete work with others, but when I went to check I got the admonishment that I was about to stomp the edits done in mobile.  Your silent ‘failure’ made it appear that I shared incomplete work with others.  

 

Then I got to spend about an hour cleaning out the shared work - difficult as it was mixed in with photos from other folks.  Really frustrating.  Feels like I need to double-check your work now - even though I’m paying for the service.  Definitely expect more from you.

 

Having gotten no traction in posting feedback to your customer forums in the past, really wanting to hear some sort of acknowledgement that you’re aware of this issue, and working on ensuring better cross-platform experience.

    macos version is 13.6.1

    creative cloud version is 6.1.0.587


    Good. Your Creative Cloud App is up to date. 

    Also good is your OS is supported. 

     

    You are in a state where the installer thinks you are up to date.

    Before attempting the fix, verify your Sync is current on files imported via the Desktop. They should be finished syncing to the cloud when you try this procedure.  The Cloud Icon in the upper right should say: "Synced and Backed Up". If not, then wait for sync to complete. 


    The easiest way to cure that is to uninstall Lightroom Desktop via the Creative Cloud App. Restart your computer and reinstall Lightroom via the Creative Cloud App. Verify that the app is now on 7.1.2. 

     

    This should solve the issue of trying to render (export) your fresh edits from Android 9.1.1 when incompatible edits are present due to your stale desktop application.

    Am I seeing an issue related to the source of the mac download (Apple Store vs direct from Adobe)?

    If you use an older version of a client against edits made using newer features in a more up-to-date client, the error message is expected. The current version of both the Mac App Store and the Creative Cloud App versions of Lightroom Desktop is 7.1.2, which, if your "5.1.2" is accurate, is two years newer than your version.  Many edits from Android 9.1.1 are not compatible with a two-year-old version of Lightroom. 

    However, I don't believe there ever was a version called "5.1.2".  Please go to Help>System Info… and provide us with the exact installed version number of your software.  Copy and paste the entire line into your reply.

    mac version # is 5.2, sorry for the mis-type. Copy/paste doesn't work in your 'about lightroom' dialog.  Also, your creative cloud tool tells me that my mac lightroom version is up-to-date (screenshot below).  That's incorrect as the adobe site tells me the most current version should be 7.1.2.

     

    I wasn't complaining about the error message. That was the thing that tipped me that there was a problem.  I was complaining that you allowed me to export a boatload of photos that used newer editing features without telling me.  Catching this during export would have saved me quite a bit of trouble.
