Exporting to PS fails. Missing PS component?

I’m not sure if this is a LR or a PS question.  When I attempt to export a photo to PS (v27.4.0) from LrC (v15.2) using the CMD E command I get an error message. On the LrC screen a small window opens with a PS on top, saying that a component is missing in Applications and the program should be reinstalled. I have done this but no help. I can manually open PS and use the File/open command. With PS already open, sometimes the CMD E command works and sometimes not. 

Does anyone have a fix for this?
