Exporting with border issues

Question

Why is it that when I export an image from lightroom mobile it can be a relatively large (10-25mb) file, but if I add a border it's around 1mb or less for the same exact file? why can I not export a photo with a border and have it remain the same file size?

additionally, there is no option in my lightroom on desktop to add a border. I have seen online options for a stroke border or developer settings, but these do not exist in my lightroom and do not show up in searches?
