Question

Files failed to import from LR mobile

I am having a problem with my LR mobile app.  I stopped auto-importing from my camera roll because I was running into to many problems so I just manually add from my camera roll to import to my LrC on my computer every month or so.

This had been working fine until now and now it will upload a few pictures (out of about 500) and then it will say "### files failed to import".  Help!

I am on iPhone 12, iOS 17.  Attaching a screenshot (I know the storage is getting low, but I have had no trouble uploading with that amount before.  I have tried deleting a bunch of photos to open up space and the same issue occurs).

Hello @rosiegirl8

Lightroom Mobile uploads and stores original images in the cloud, and this can consume a lot of space.

Lightroom Classic uploads only smart previews, not original images, and this is why importing and uploading from LrC is not blocked due to low cloud storage space and does not behave the same way as Lightroom mobile.

Also, when you delete images uploaded from Lightroom Classic, cloud storage is not freed because Classic never uploaded original images.  What would help is to delete images that were uploaded via Lightroom Mobile, and then reimport and sync them via Lightroom Classic.  To ensure your data is safe, I recommend making a full backup of your mobile device, or at least copying all the images from your camera roll to your computer.  From there, let Lr Classic import the desired images.

Here is a screenshot after I deleted a bunch of photos from the cloud.  Same issue.
