Filtering (by rating, etc.) is broken for local folders is broken in Lightroom v9.1

Question

After latest update to v9.1 filtering for local folders does not work anymore, i.e. I try to filter all photos with rating above 2 stars and loading circle animation appears but it never finishes (until I cancel filtering). This only applies to photos in local folders. Ordering by rating at the same time works.

Photos are located on external SSD, lrlibrary file is on internal SSD.

Things I’ve tried to fix the issue (didn’t help):

reinstalling lightroom
removing lrlibrary file (to force reindexing)
clearing cache
pausing/enabling sync

System info:

Lightroom v9.1 (installed from app store)
macOS 26.2
mac mini m4
