Fixed: Missing Images and Presets after Lightroom Mobile 5.4 update

So, Lightroom automatically updated and I lost everything I had until this morning when I last used it.

 

I hope theres a way to recover my work back.

Hi All,

We are aware that some customers who updated to Lightroom 5.4.0 on iPhone and iPad may be missing photos and presets that were not synced to the Lightroom cloud. 

A new version of Lightroom mobile (5.4.1) for iOS and iPadOS has now been released that prevents this issue from affecting additional customers. 

Installing version 5.4.1 will not restore missing photos or presets for customers affected by the problem introduced in 5.4.0. 

We know that some customers have photos and presets that are not recoverable. We sincerely apologize to any customers who have been affected by this issue. 

If you are affected by this issue, please refer to the information in our forum.

Woke up this morning to check that all of my photos stored in light were deleted. why is that????

I used the LR Camera feature for the first time on a recent backpacking trip. My goal was to capture photos in RAW dng to edit later on my desktop. I was able to then view my photos in the LR Camera Photos folder and I even edited one while in the field using the app. Due to being in the wilderness with no cell signal, I had the phone set to Airplane mode to save power. I also closed all the apps, including LR Mobile, before putting my phone away for the evening to limit any possible power loss. When opening LR Mobile upon returning home, I've discovered NONE of my photos shot using the LR Mobile app exist anymore. Meaning nothing existed in the LR Camera Photos folder. At least so it seems. I've checked my Adobe cloud, iCloud, and even did the trick of connecting my iPhone to my Mac. Would this have anything to do with no internet connection for syncing? So far, this is extremely disappointing as I captured a few meaningful images while out there.

Signed out of my Lightroom app and when I logged back in, all my photos and presets were gone. I've been using LR mobile app for a few years now. Can I recover my photos and presets?!

Mine have done the same thing and I've lost presets I've Purchased years ago that I can't get back?

At least it wasn't "oh, you had to make sure everything was sync before the update" when everything has been stnced since long ago!

I've just opened my app to find my own presets and pictures are missing 😭😭😭

Hey so I went to edit some photos today for work and I've lost several thousand photos and custom presets I'd been using and tweaking over the last year or so, beyond devastated! I use these presets daily for work. I've noticed a couple other posts from the last hour with the same issue so figured as many as possible would hopefully catch Adobe's attention. Really need this rectified, please help!

Seems to me Adobe has a mess to clean up...

 

As a software company you'd expect them to cover their tracks when updating new software. Clearly, someone was slacking.. Adobe should be held responsible for resolving this issue. Or at least come out with an explaination as to how they managed to screw up this bad. There are a lot of upset people right now, including myself, that lost tons and tons of data due to a lack of accountablity. 

FIX YOUR PROBLEM ADOBE!!!!!

I'm having the same troubles. I have been about an hour on the live chat of adobe and no one was able to help me. It's a disgrace. All the work gone. I just hope there is a way to recover that

Just want to chime in and say that I've had a partial loss of media, only stuff which looks like it hasn't synced to the cloud has been affected. 

Adobe, was a company who produces software that is relied upon by casual, enthusiast and professional photographers around the world, how the hell did a bug like this make it through your quality control. This is frankly embarrassing.
