Question

Greyed out Add Photo Lightroom 7.5 Mac

I downloaded Lightroom from the App store onto my Macbook Air and purchased the subscription after logging in with my Apple ID.

My Macbook is a company laptop and so I have 90% of the access (not the full admin function, but enough to install Apps and make changes).

I cannot add a photo to LR. I've tried to log off, log on, reset the laptop, reopen etc... and nothing has worked. The Add phot is greyed out and I have even tried draggin a photo to LR. This did not work either.

I did not get LR from Creative Cloud and I have only purchased this for myself. Many of the forum's solution seem to work for corporate and enterprise licence.

Here is a screen shot

Please advise,

Peter

Could it be that the company have a firewall (or some other security) on their laptops that prevents the use of unapproved software or al least stops it connecting online (even if it is your Adobe ID)?

(That's assuming you don't use Adobe products for your work)

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hi Peter,

Have you solve this issue? I'm having the same problem here. Tried everything, and granted full disk access, did not work for me.

Check this (it's about Lightroom Classic, but this also applies to Lightroom):

Quick Tips: How to give Full Disk Access to Lightroom Classic on macOS

Hi Johan,

This has not worked. I have given LR full Disk Access - I restarted LR and still nothing works.

Interestingly enough, my iphone's LR worked fine. So this issue must be to do with the MacBook.

Please advise. I am on Sonoma 14.6.1

Best,

Peter
