HDR not Supported in Android

Hello,

I am using Lightroom (cloud) v.10.4.4 on a Samsung s25 Ultra.   HDR photos do not display properly and i get an error message on the HDR histogram that says HDR is not supported on my device.  I have tried re-installing but that made no difference.  Are there any fixes?

Given that pretty much every phone released in the last 5 years has some flavor of HDR, that Android has overwhelming market share outside the US, and that this effectively makes Lightroom useless for editing, this is a little hard to believe.

The only Adobe support article on this that is relevant states that only Google Pixel phones from 3 years ago are supported.   Is that really right?

What are Adobe's plans to fix this?

Hi @tomj18844802, Thanks for reporting this! HDR editing and output in Lightroom Mobile are only officially supported on select devices running Android 14. While the Samsung S25 Ultra has HDR hardware capabilities, Lightroom does not yet support HDR workflows on this device, which is why you see the error. In the meantime, you can enable "Preview for SDR display" in settings to view edits more accurately and export them in AVIF or JPG to preserve HDR data.

I know this can be a frustrating limitation, and I encourage you to upvote the related feature request here: https://adobe.ly/3GVrTYI. This helps Adobe prioritize broader device support.

Please let us know if you have any other questions about Lightroom or Lightroom Mobile. Thanks! ^CH
