HDR preview on Pixel 7 is broken since v9.1.1.

Thought I was the only one having this issue but then did research and looks like everyone has this problem.

Oh no, it broke again.

Lightroom Android v11.5.31

Google Pixel 7

Android 17

It was working on Android 17 a while ago, but the latest Lightroom v11.5.31 isn't working again.

Thanks for coming back and updating the thread. I remember we previously worked through this with you, and you confirmed that HDR preview started working again with Lightroom 10.5.0.

Since you’re now seeing the same behavior again with:

Lightroom Android: 11.5.31

Device: Google Pixel 7

OS: Android 17

I’m going to take this back to the product team for another look. We have been doing additional HDR rendering work and validation on Pixel devices with Android 17, so your report on the Pixel 7 is useful.

Before I do, could you confirm just two things:

Is the behavior exactly the same as in your previous recording — HDR editing is available. Still, the display does not switch to the HDR preview, and you may see “HDR preview is not supported on this device.”
If possible, could you share a new short screen recording from 11.5.31 showing the current behavior? This will let us compare the regression directly with what you reported previously.

There’s no need to repeat the HW overlay test, reinstall Lightroom, change Android versions, or redo the other troubleshooting we went through previously.

Yup, it's the exact same way as before. here's another video

Only thing I couldn't reproduce is the “device unsupported” error that shows when you click the red histogram. It doesn't show sometimes for some reason, it tried clicking on it several times in this video but it didn't show up. But the HDR portion of the histogram is still red like before. And turning on HDR also clips the highlights which means it's not working.
