Help! When opening photo in develop, it turns into a white rectangle!

Everything was fine when I was editing my last shoot when suddenly, as I moved to the next photo, it showed up on the develop screen as a white rectangle. Thankfully, as I experimented with different solutions, such as unchecking the GPU, updating Lr, etc...  I tried my luck by moving on to other photos that I wasn't into, in case they turned white as well. And they did. 

I've hunted all over online and I don't see people with this same problem. So now I'm scared to move forward and don't know what to do as I need to finish these edits for my client. 

As for corruption - I don't see any lines or static style images - just a blank white image. 

What do I do??
