High res on Lr Cloud using LrClassic

Hi all,

In my workflow LrC is still king: I always use it when I'm home, but oftentimes I find myself editing on my iPhone when I'm on the go, thanks to cloud syncing. The problem is that in the cloud I only have smart previews, so if I need to share the photo, I neet to open my laptop, wait for it to be synced and share it from LrC. 

Is there a way to sync high-res photos using LrC?

    Not directly. What you could do, however, is sync the images from LrC as smart previews to the cloud as normal, then also import them directly into the Lightroom Desktop app (directly from the same LrC location, i.e. NOT a copy of the LrC image). LrD will then detect that the file being imported already exists in smart preview form, so it simply replaces the smart preview with the full-res original, which then becomes available in all your linked devices.

     

    Note, however, that doing this does mean that the originals do count against your cloud storage allowance.
