How can I undo the hdr display?

I noticed a button (HDR) and clicked on it to see what it did.  A display started and started adding colors to my pics. I tried to undo them and couldn’t. I had to delete the pics and start over.  Now I can’t get rid of the display.  I went to help and it said ‘don’t click on it if you don’t want it.’  There was nothing about that on the page. I can’t delete it now! How can I delete the display?  What a pain!

Assuming you have Lightroom (the Desktop version 9.3) and I understand what you might have done-   the HDR button can be toggled on/off. So it should be possible to select all affected photos in Edit mode and click the HDR button again.

I am still having a problem understanding your workflow and what you did. Some screen-clips of what you are seeing would be helpful.

If you have adjusted the edits while in HDR mode (eg. by dragging on the histogram) then the image will look different when you toggle HDR mode ‘off’.

But [CTRL+R] will completely reset the image back to original.

Deleting the images and re-importing is not necessary as all Lightroom edits are stored as commands in the cloud catalog (or as XMP in ‘local’ mode). Your original files are not altered. Only when you export a derivative image do the edits alter (or ‘burn in’) your edits to the resulting photo.

All I did was click on hdr and when I started editing, my pic was getting blue lines in it.  Ok, I just went to edit options and found histograms, which I didn’t know about or know what it was, and clicked on it and the image went away.  It looks like I’m set.  Thanks Rob.

I have version 9.4, and no, that doesn’t work.  It won’t toggle off and on.  I’ve tried it.  The display is still there.  Besides, I deleted the affected pics and will try not to let that happen again. And in the edit pull down it shows ‘undo HDR’.  I clicked that and, That doesn’t work either. Thanks anyway.
