Question

How do I edit jpg photos? Lightroom doesn’t like them - yes, I’m a noob at this!

After hiring a company to digitize my Kodachrome slides, they all came back in jpg format. Lightroom doesn't seem to want to play nice with that format. I assume that my photos could be converted to jpeg, but there seem to be quite a few questionable sites out there. Thanks in advance!

There have been reports of services creating malformed files.
If the JPEG is properly constructed and follows the spec, it should be readable everywhere.

Define 'not play nice'. Lightroom should not have any problems with JPEGs.
