Question

How do I separate a white table from a white background?

In mask, the 'select background' option is highlighting my white background with a white table that I want to separate from the background. I have run out of ideas on how to achieve this. It keeps seeing the table as a background.

Hi @excited_video14d7, I'm just checking in to see if the suggestion helped or if you are still running into this issue? Let us know how things are going. Happy to keep troubleshooting with you if needed. Thanks! ^CH

If you’re using the Mac or Windows desktop or web version, does it work better to draw an object mask for the table, set to Subtract from the background mask?

If you’re using the mobile version, does it help to try to exclude the table with an subtracted Luminance Range mask, or are the tones of the background and table too similar?

If you’re on the mobile version and nothing above helps, you might try manually painting a Brush mask set to Subtract from the background mask.

If all of the “if”s above are confusing, it’s because we don’t know which desktop or mobile version of Lightroom you’re using, so it could help to be more specific about that, and to post a screen shot of what the table looks like against the background.
