Question

How to backup Lightroom Presets & files?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently using Lightroom (Cloud version, not Classic) linked to my work email pro account.

I'm trying to be proactive about data safety and I want to make sure I have a personal backup of everything in case I ever lose access to my work account.

I already saved my .tiff unedited files on an external hard drive, and I would like to back up all my custom presets, HD tiff, jpgs and web quality jpgs of all my pictures.

My goal is to be able to automate my data backup & to be able to access it later with a different Adobe Lightroom account.

Any experience or step-by-step advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

@Adobar666  To go down the Shared Album route, you would obviously need a personal subscription too, but if you decide to so that, then there are a couple of threads on here that outline the workflow for transferring the files.

You seem to done most of the work already, especially if you require all those formats (as an FYI you could have used the Lightroom Downloader Tool to download everything in the Cloud - although it can be a bit inconsistent apparently).

If you have overlap between work and personal accounts, You could always Share Albums using Can Contribute rights and transfer photos between accounts that way.

Also, I had read reports of Adobe transferring accounts for users…. I have also read that they don’t do it!

HI, really appreciate your response! Will check the Lightroom Downloader Tool & shared album rights. It’s a pity that Adobe focuses more on AI & subscriptions rather than upgrading its existing softwares. Thank you so much!
