Question

How to convert a Tiff file to Jpeg when "save a copy" no longer includes Jpg?

Hello,

In LR this morning I developed a shot and included HDR, an available option.  However, when I sent the finished product to photoshop, it comes through as a TIFF, but when I try to save a copy in JPEG, photoshop no longer gives me the JPEG option.

I have to save the shot as a small file for my website, but I can't find a way to do this.  Is there a way to convert or save a copy as a JPEG some other way?

Thank you,

Erin

Is there a need to 'go through' Photoshop?  Lightroom can export derivative images in JPG format -no problem.

When sending images from Lr or LrC to Photoshop the default file format in Ps is TIF.  And only using [Save] will return a TIF file to the Lightroom catalog.  Any other format option saves to a local drive, but not the Lr catalog.

[Save As] will not give you a JPEG option.

[Save a Copy] should give you the JPEG option. (It does in my Ps version)  [Alt+Ctrl+S]

You might find it easier to use the [Export] functions:

You might find that the Export menu is a better option. [Quick Export as JPG]  or [Export As...].

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hello,

I clicked on the link you supplied,

"in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list
here, https://community.adobe.com/ "

but that took me back to the forum. I couldn't see where my post was on
that forum, but it looks to be exactly the same forum I first posted
to, except that I hadn't posted to the Photoshop forum. So, I sent a new
message to this site.

Thank you for trying to help.
