How to Fix Resolution Issue from Lightroom CC Mobile to Facebook?

Has anyone noticed that sharing images from Lightroom Mobile CC on Facebook results in a dramatically reduced quality image even when selecting "Maximum Available" or "Small 2048px"? I have checked all my app settings (including Facebook) to always upload HD. Yet the only way that I can post a high quality image from Lightroom CC to Facebook is by exporting it from Lightroom CC into a local HD folder first.

Is it not possible to export a 2048px (or even a full sized) JPG from a DNG directly to Facebook from the Mobile Lightroom CC app? Not sure why the options for maximum available or 2048px are even listed when the resulting image posted is always much smaller. No matter which option I select, the result is always 960x640px. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a way to fix this? Thanks!

Facebook compresses all images uploaded. There isn't much you can do about that.

This isn't a compression issue at all. It's a Lightroom CC export function. The actual file dimensions are being radically reduced, but ONLY when exporting an original DNG to JPG from Lightroom CC mobile to FB. There's even an option in Lightroom CC export for "Maximum" or "2048px" when posting. Both options result in a 960x640px image on FB. This is not the case, however, if the image is exported from Lightroom CC desktop to a local folder prior to uploading directly to FB. Then, regardless of any re-compression that may be applied, the file dimensions remain the same (i.e. 2048px).

The question is: Why is this not possible directly from the Lightroom CC mobile app?

This is a limitation in the Facebook iOS app. It will downscale anything you feed it to about 960 pixels on the long side. Lightroom is feeding it full resolution images but the Facebook downscales it. You can see this by saving the image to the camera roll. You'll see it is full resolution there. Then go into the Facebook app and add an image there and yes, it will be downscaled the same as when you do it direct. Facebook does not do that on the desktop. You can do a bit about it though. Go into the Facebook apps setting (In settings app assuming you are on iOS), go to the Facebook app's settings and enable the upload HD option. You'll get images that  are 2048 pixels on the long side. Not the full resolution but better than 960 pixels!
