How to mass delete photos from LR for iPad

I am new at this LR for iPad) and just don't understand. I paid for a monthly membership installed LR on my iPad Pro and it has populated itself with 100s of photos I don't even know how, now I want to remove 90% of them ! Does LR mobile automatically populate from iOS photos?

It does if you enable the option to auto import from the camera roll. Tap on the three dots in de upper right corner, then App Settings, then Import.
