I currently have lightroom classic and want to add photoshop. is there a package deal available to combine the two into one subscription?

Yes there is a “package”. Lr+Ps (called “Photography” includes all Lightroom mobile apps, Lightroom-Classic and Photoshop)

You can change to another Plan in your Adobe account- no need to buy a separate subscription.
