I do not want to use cloud services to store any photos

Hello, my cloud storage is full - I never wanted to use the cloud storage to begin with and am wondering whether there are any drawbacks in keeping it full so as to prevent any new images to be uploaded or is there a way to turn this feature off completely. I do not want the cloud storage nor do I want to upgrade to more storage, it is just something I do not need.
