I use Lightroom Classic - can I delete the Mobile Downloads.lrdata as I need the space

My Mac’s hard drive is maxed out - so much so that I can’t do the latest OS update. I’ve already deleted old LR Classic libraries and am looking around to see what I can free up. I don’t use LR on the web or mobile/iPad - can I delete the 1gb’s worth of Mobile Downloads.lrdata without mucking anything else up? Any other suggestions how to free up LR or Adobe-related space? I’ve already deleted Photoshop as I rarely use it and can re-install it if I need it.

No, do not delete it! This is part of Lightroom Classic. It is where your incoming cloud photos (like photos taken with your mobile phone) are stored. You maynot use Lightroom mobilelike you said, butapparentlyyou do use it (perhaps without realizing that) to get your phone photos in Lightroom Classic. In Lightroom Classic it will show in the folder panel as a ‘device’ (like an external drive) with the name of the phone. You can move the photos from that place to a normal folder, also a folder on an external drive. That will shrink the mobile downloads package. In Preferences - Lightroom Sync you can also change thedestination for incoming phone photos to a normal folder (on an external drive if you want that). Only after you’ve done this you could delete it, because only then it is empty and no longer in use.
