Question

I want to share Lightroom albums with people using Lightroom Classic (enterprise)

Hi there! I have several Lightroom CC albums in my Library that I want to share with one or more people using the Enterprise version of "Lightroom with Classic" (so I'm assuming this is Classic?). We want to be able to view, rate, change metadata, upload, download, and edit keywords on images. I know this is a use case suited for a large Digital Asset Management tool like PhotoShelter, but we've tried that and it's overkill, and frankly not as user-friendly as we need for contributors. I'm hoping this is a solution.

Has anyone else worked with CC <---> Classic album sharing/editing? Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks,

Alan

Can you clarify the exact version number of Lightroom that you and the other people are using? There are some things that you can do, but not all of the things you want to do, but knowing eactly which apps are involved will help provide a more definitive answer.

I am running Lightroom 7.1.2. The other users will be using Lightroom Classic for Enterprise, whatever the latest version is. I haven’t been able to see what differences there might be between “standard” Classic and the Enterprise version.

If the other users are all using Lightroom Classic, I'm afraid there's nothing you can do in terms of them accessing your shared albums in LrC. There is no ability for LrC to see any "Shared with You" albums, though they could access them through their own LrWeb portal. However, even in LrWeb (or Lightroom Desktop if they use that) there is no option to add or change metadata on the images in the shared albums, they would be restricted to viewing and downloading with a "View Only" share setting. With an "Contribute" or "Edit" capability they could add their own images (Contribute) and edit yours (Edit), but not add add or change metadata.
