Image blurring while using mask in iPad Lightroom

I'm experiencing the image that I'm working on blurring when I use the mask feature in Lightroom CC on my iPad (6th generation). This happens when I'm using the Apple Pencil to colour in the area to be masked, as well as when I use the adjustment sliders.  The mask and adjustments are applied to the image, but I can't clearly see the changes until Ive completed using the adjustment slider.  This makes it quite hard to know if I've made the correct adjustments. I'm considering upgrading to the iPad Pro M1, but would like to know if this behaviour is expected in Lightroom on the iPad or if it should improve with the faster M1 model.
