Question

Image quality from Lightroom to Portfolio

I am a watercolor artist.  When I paint I use a very white paper.  I shoot images raw, then adjust white balance and make slight adjustments so the background is, in fact, white.   Then I import to portfolio for my webpage and the background, which was white in Adobe Lightroom 8.1, has a dirty yellow cast to it.  This seems to happen consistently.  I have adjusted the image and replace it in Portfolio to no avail.  This is very disconcerting as I base sales on the webpage and it subtantially affects this.

    Hi @JDC001AdobeForum

When did this issue start? Was it after a recent update?

Could you share a screenshot of the export settings you're using? It would also be helpful to see how the image looks in Lightroom compared to after it's been exported.

    Thanks! Alek

It seems to have been a problem all along,  worse on some images.  In regard to export settings, I am not using such settings as the image is actually imported directly from Lightroom from Portfolio.  That is, when I am in Portfolio Edit Mode, I am on a page and want to add a photo, the plus sign allows me to go to Lighroom to get the image.  So, there is not export, just an import.   Does that make sense?  I have found some possible solution.  That is, in Lightroom go to edit an image, then, use "point color", then select the background, then adjust saturation and luminance.  I can't just lighten the background in this manner but the combination of adjustments has some positive effect.  Can get a similar result by selecting a background color under Color Mixer, but I think it is exactly the same thing.  By the way, if you are an Adobe employee, I have another thing that I have tried several times to have rectified, with no results.  That is the spacing between lines in a caption under a photo in Portfolio.  I have attached a screenshot of the two images composited together.  The top one, with the light background is in Lightroom and the lower one is in my Webpage created by Portfolio.  You can see the deeper gray. When you select 9 pt, it is much more than that.  There is no way to reduce the space between lines to a reasonable point.  If you need examples of that, let me know.  Thanks, Jay

    Hey @JDC001AdobeForum!

Great to hear you found a workaround! Unfortunately, Adobe Portfolio isn't within my area of expertise—I focus on the Lightroom, Photoshop, and Bridge communities. For suggestions and questions about Portfolio, I'd recommend reaching out directly to their team.

You can discuss Portfolio on the Creative Cloud Services board.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Thanks for doing that.  I was unaware of the other location.
